Picking the perfect menu display for your big day

Picking the perfect menu display for your big day

You’ve said the “I do’s” and now it’s time to celebrate. But first, FOOD. Picking my wedding menu was one of my favorite parts of wedding planning, second only to cake tasting. You spend lots of money ensuring your guests have something delicious to fuel them for a fun night on the dance floor - so how do you tell them what’s for dinner?

There are thousands of ways (don’t get me started) to creatively display your wedding menu - but what are the classic go-to displays that won’t add to an already pricey meal cost per guest?

Picking your menu display depends on a couple of factors. For example:

Doing a buffet?

Individual table size buffet “cards” help you tell guests exactly what is served in each dish and prevent a traffic jam at the front of the line as guests try to read and remember what they are about see.

Serving food at different “stations”?

Place a large sign as a “mini menu” for that station. If your stations are spread out, having a separate sign for each subset of the overall menu helps funnel guests to the stations they want to enjoy, without the need to hover over each dish to read the description.

Got a themed menu you want to show off?

Do one large menu sign, like the one below, to list the full tailored menu for your guests.

(Plus, guests clearly love this option!)

Hosting a more formal, sit down dinner where each guest will be served multiple courses?

Go for a personalized menu card for each place setting. Guests can refer back to the card during the meal to know what is coming next!

And last but certainly not least, what’s best for the Italian favorite family-style dinner?

Consider a table menu! Expert tip here: make your menu double-sided so everyone at the table can read easily.
